Starting today, the first Sunday of every month is going to be a progress report on how I’m doing both overall and how the past month went. It will include things like pictures, weight, goals, and maybe more, it will depend on what kind of progress has been made and mostly on what the goals for the month were.
I didn’t really have any goals for July other than improvement so there isn’t as much to report on this month but I will be sharing with you my goals for August today so next month should be more exciting. But let’s get to July, shall we?
The Numbers
- Current Weight: 204lb
- July’s Weight: 211lb
- Starting Weight: 247lb
- Goal Weight: 160lb
- That’s a 7lb drop for July and an overall drop of 43lb. Leaving 44lb to hit my goal
- Current Body Fat: 39%
- June’s Body Fat: 40%
- I didn’t get taped in July so I’m unsure of what my body fat was then.
- Starting Body Fat: estimated 50%
- Passing Body Fat: 32%
- That’s a 1% drop since June and an 11% drop overall. Leaving 7% left to go which I’ve heard is an average of about 3lb per 1%

Overall
I’m not going to lie, July was a bit of a tough month. Sure I had some progress but I most definitely didn’t have as much progress as I could have had. I think that after I passed the APFT in June, I let myself have a couple of days off and that turned into a week and that turned into two. I slowly started to revert back to my old habits but unlike in the past, I caught myself and started to pull myself back together. I started to push hard this past week and I plan to continue, this time with even more motivation.
I struggled a lot with my self-control when it came to food. I ate a lot more than I should have been eating and even though I was telling myself I should stop, I didn’t. I decided to throw in a cheat day on Saturdays in hopes that it would help me during the week. I started doing that about two weeks ago and it has helped tremendously. When I start craving something during the week, I just tell myself to wait until Saturday and then I can have it.
August’s Goals
- Lose 2lb a week, putting me at 196lb
- Lose 2% body fat, putting me at 37%
- Run 2mi in 18:00
- Workout at least 4 times a week
- Try at least 2 new vegetables
I apologize for July’s report being so short but I plan to keep track of more things throughout August so that I can have more forms of progress to share.
